Occitanie/ Pyrénées-Méditerranée enjoys over 300 hundred days of sunshine a year and offers a great diversity of locations : more than 150 miles (275 km) of Mediterranean coastline stretching from Catalonia to the Camargue, highly varied mountains from the Pyrenees to the Massif Central and the Cévennes, outstanding historical monuments and sites, typical French villages and towns.

Occitanie/ Pyrénées-Méditerranée is the second largest region in mainland France. The region spans 72, 724 km2, or 13.2 % of the total surface area of France. It comprises more departments than any ofther French region, with a total of 13: Ariège, Aude, Aveyron, Gard, Haute-Garonne, Gers, Hérault, Lot, Lozère, Hautes-Pyrénées, Pyrénées-Orientales, Tarn and Tarn-et-Garonne (in alphabetic order).
